initially when twitter was supposed to explode and everyone was claiming to migrate to mastodon i didn’t bother making one because i was like “ehhh i don’t like (some minor gripes) about mastodon, its not going to replace twitter for me, i’m just happy with cohost” and for a while it was fine because lots of people who claimed to leave ended up sticking around on twitter anyway.

but like, twitter actually feels like its dying now, not because of any individual bit of “dumb shit” elon has done lately but because the vibe just feels different, twitter is starting to feel “emptier” (i guess as more people genuinely leave?) and as much as I love cohost it doesn’t fill the same role, so i am genuinely starting to begrudgingly consider mastodon again. i’m not exactly keen on having to “pick a server” but at this point i’d rather take a chance than continue to watch twitter get quieter and quieter.

…any server recommendations?
